DC Classic Films Timeline

Whether it’s Christopher Reeve’s portrayal of the Man of Steel, or Tim Burton’s enchanting new take on Batman, chances are one of these films informed your childhood view of these classic characters. This is the DC Classic Films timeline.

What’s on the DC Classic Films Timeline?

I should start by saying that we have no evidence these two main franchises exist in the same continuity. But their proximity to each other, and the general place they have in DC nerd culture, makes it easy enough to assume they exist in the same universe.

We’ve also added Superman Returns and it’s “sequels” in the form of the Crisis on Infinite Earths Arrowverse crossover. These also have loose connections to the Christopher Reeve films, even though some aspects (i.e. the year in which they are set) don’t match up. Superman Returns was definitely meant to be a soft sequel to the Reeve films. Or at least to the first two Reeve films.
