Assassin’s Creed Timeline

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has come to be one of the best ways to explore the past, while enjoying a nice cohesive and engaging story at the same time. This is the Assassin’s Creed timeline.

What’s on the Assassin’s Creed Timeline?

The Assassin’s Creed timeline attempts to create a reading order (or in some cases viewing/playing order) for all major pieces of Assassin’s Creed media. This includes all video games, novels, films, and comic books. This list does not attempt to split up any media to read congruently, but rather focuses on an easy-to-follow reading/playing/watching list.

The Assassin’s Creed timeline includes the following:

  • Assassin’s Creed games
  • Tie-in Books
  • Tie-in Comics
  • Mobile Games
  • Films (such as the film starting Michael Fassbender as well as others like AC: Lineage)

The placement of this timeline is tricky, since there is a frame story and the historical story. So we’ve decided to do something different for this timeline. By default we place all of the stories in the order they were released, which is ultimately the order we recommend. In the Historical Order column, you can sort by the historical order for the stories, according to what historical era most of that story takes place. Either order is a great way to experience the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Additionally, check out the Ubisoft Universe timeline for more on how Assassin’s Creed could connect to Far Cry or Watch Dogs.

As always, if you have questions or comments about this timeline, we recommend you visit our contact page.

  1. You forgot to add a game named “Bloodlines” (released on PSP) and you also forgot to specify that the “Discovery” game is a part of Assassin’s Creed II

  2. It fits right after the Novel “Brotherhood” because it’s narrated by Niccolò Polo, the father of the famed explorer, Marco Polo even if it’s the story of Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad (the first game released in 2007)

  3. You once had 2 versions of this list. One Chronological, based on its modern scenes, and one historical, based on its Animus scenes. What happened to that?

  4. Like @ABRAHAM SMITH, I was searching for the other list order.
Too bad that you removed the chronological order based on the modern events (frame story) :,c
